February 2010
Birds on Johnson Creek
February's been unusually warm. We're still seeing the usual suspects and they're more acrobatic.
Bushtit
This is the only Hairy Woodpecker I've seen in the yard.
The first Goldfinches came to the feeder mid-February.
As well as some strange feeder-fellows like the House Finch and the Junco on Valentines Day
The Flickers have been around all winter. I never realized their camoflage was this good.
There is now a pair of nuthatches that are more hungry than they are careful

Flocks of Robins flew in Mid-January. The bird bath is at the end the range of my remote so this is the first good robin photo

Starlings flew in about the same time as the Robins.

Steller's Jays are around all winter.
Rufous-sided Towhees are around all winter
Rufous-sided Towhee
Towhees nest and search for food on the ground and are more twitchy than any other bird I've photograph.
