Isaac Ives Foster was born October 24, 1805 in Connecticut. His parents were Noah Foster and Anna Ives. His brothers were Eli born in 1796 and Joel in1814. He was in Edwardsville Illinois in 1837 when his son John Cowles was born. He crossed the plains to California on a wagon train in1849. He married Martha Little who was the daughter of William Little and Susan Talmadge. He died January 09, 1869 in River Falls, Wisconsin. | |||||||||||||||||

| The children of Isaac and Martha Foster were John Cowles Foster (lower right) was born September 06, 1837 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Cornelia Foster (upper right) was born February 2, 1842 in Edwardsville, Illinois and died January 12, 1926. She married William Jay Whipple September 27, 1866 in River Falls Wisconsin. Susan Ann Foster(upper left) was born May 17, 1840 and died September 01, 1916. She married David M. Lusk.
